Columbus Logistics Services GmbH (CLS) coordinates all pre- and post-shipment logistics services for the Hamburg Süd Group. These include individual customer enquiries within the context of value-added services. CLS offers its services for all orders of magnitude – not just for complete containers (FCL consolidation), but also for smaller consignments that do not fill whole containers (LCL consolidation). This means that even someone wishing to ship merely a case of wine, a pallet of replacement parts or a box of toys by sea is at the right address with CLS.
CLS's service package encompasses, among other things, packing and unpacking containers, port services, handling all relevant import and export documents, splitting larger consignments and single consignments, labelling, customs clearance and inland distribution. In addition, when animals and plants or animal and plant products are transported, the company makes all the arrangements for the necessary veterinary processing.
